This light is suitable for use outside but the mains adaptor needs to be inside or in a weatherproof outdoor socket.

The outdoor socket should have a cover and a rubber seam to keep out moisture and be rated IP44. If you do not have an outdoor socket you can feed the cable into a garage, outbuilding, shed or through a window.
